flemmard Edition 7 Chitarman
Chitarman was an Indian painter during the Mughal reign in the 17th century. Serving Shah Jahan in his court, his paintings were known for glorifying the represented individuals. This artwork illustrates Shah Jahan's most flamboyant portrait. Although having been a very successful military commander, Shah Jahan is best remembered for his architectural achievements, such as the Taj Mahal in Agra, which entombs his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
